Hollywood Music in Media Awards Names Gregg Young & the 2nd Street Band Best Blues




On Thursday November 19th at The Highlands in the world famous Hollywood and Highlands / Kodak Theater complex in Hollywood, CA, Gregg Young & the 2nd Street Band won Best Blues for Please Don’t Let Them Take Our House. Band Leader/ Guitarist Gregg Young and Vocalist Andrea Palm walked to red carpet with over 900 artists, nominees and celebrities.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be selected by the prestigious entertainment professionals of HMMA for this award. We are grateful and thankful, God Bless,” says Gregg.

Please Don’t Let Them Take Our House, by Gregg Young & the 2nd Street Band, Gregg Young (guitar), Andrea Palm (vocals), is an acoustic blues that tells a story of our current middle class struggle. It is a social commentary musical snapshot of our housing crisis.

Gregg has also won Unanimous Choice Smooth Jazz Artist at the Year at the LA Music Awards, was Nominated Best of Jazz at the Hollywood Music Awards and has been considered in multiple Grammy categories. In the past, Gregg has been in shows that included acts such as Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Steve Miller, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Linda Ronstadt, Steppenwolf, Iron Butterfly, Eric Burden, War, Jose Feliciano, Ten Years After, Santana, James Cotton Blues Band, H. P. Lovecraft, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and others. Gregg has had the privilege of having guitar great Carlos Santana as a friend and mentor, and learned a great deal while playing with Bo Diddley and Sly Stone.
